A five-star barbershop: questions answered

What people ask me about A five-star barbershop, and my answers. The project itself has its own page.

Which assumption shifted the most once it was checked against state records?

The owner was sure the affluent side of his metro had no real barber school, which would leave a premium school an open slot. I started by looking at the Arizona Barbering and Cosmetology Board's own list of licensed schools. The area was not empty. Several licensed schools were already running there. What none of them had was a premium, brand-led identity attached to a name customers already trusted. That is a narrower claim, and it is true, so we rebuilt the model on it before any projection meant anything. After that, funding timing reshaped the rollout. Veterans' benefits and federal aid come later, so the school has to carry its early years on cash, payment plans, private lending and workforce funding.
