From one mural to a four-year relationship

A single wall mural for a performance car brand's California hub became a store build-out and then a VIP lounge, one job at a time.

The hub's first request was small: one wall, wraparound racing stripes, a signature. The easy read was a one-off job. I read it as an audition. I decided that how my team handled the mural would decide whether we ever saw the next piece.

So the mural got the care I would have given the project I actually wanted. It paid off. Next came more work, then the build-out of the store, and finally the Snake Pit VIP lounge, 3,000 square feet inside what had been Carroll Shelby's apartment.

Look at the arc over four years. A mural, then a retail store, then a full lounge with structural changes, roll-up doors and a bar. Nobody offers a scope like that on day one. Small jobs, done exceptionally well, are what get you considered for the ones that matter.

The co-CEO described it himself: the team earned their trust. A real person kept watching my crew get small things right, over and over, until he was willing to hand us something that could not be replaced. The marquee project is never first. You earn it a well-run small job at a time.
