I Already Paid For These Mistakes, You Don't Have To
I migrated first onto a partner's new stack, then wrote my mistakes into a playbook for the other two partners.
A partner built a new shared operating stack for the whole company, and I moved onto it first, before the other two partners touched theirs. I did not just tell them to go migrate. I wrote my own migration up as a step-by-step playbook that named the specific mistakes I had already made and paid for.
Partway through, I discovered that some live tools and data rooms of mine had no real backup whatsoever. A permissions wall also stopped my build dead until a partner raised my access. Passing that on directly was faster and safer than letting two more people find the same problems on their own.
For one partner the playbook routed the migration through the company's marketing agent. For the other it said to keep capital and deals work in a walled-off space isolated for compliance. Step one was mandatory: back up everything first, which came straight from what nearly went wrong for me.
When you find a landmine, do not just step around it quietly. Mark it for the next person.
