We are not a free salesperson
NuWay wanted a new US market opened on commission alone with no paid diligence, and I would not put real resources behind that.
NuWay asked us to open a new US market with no paid diligence. We would introduce buyers and take a split, purely on commission, like a free salesperson. I refused to commit real resources. We held it at a 50/50 commission split and will shop it only if a buyer appears.
A market entry costs real money: compliance, corporate structure, contracts, investor readiness. None of that was going to be covered, and the split could not justify the work.
It sits on the back burner. If a buyer turns up, an assisted living operator for example, we do the deal and negotiate better terms with the buyer in hand.
An offer paid only on commission values your work at zero until another party says yes. Commit resources where the terms carry the risk.
