Origin: Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)
LACMA is the most prestigious name on my civic record, and I got there as a volunteer.
LACMA is the most prestigious name on my civic record, and I came to it as a volunteer, not as a paid vendor. For two years I served as project coordinator and owner-side lead on installations across the museum campus. It was the same owner-side discipline I sold to paying clients, offered to an institution I wanted to back.
On a separate track, my Tellus Build crew fabricated and installed an interactive sculpture for one of the museum's exhibitions, Maria Elena Gonzalez's Magic Carpet Home. CODAworx later featured it to its whole professional network.
I was paid nothing for the LACMA volunteer work. Serving the owner well is a discipline, and I wanted proof that I could keep it up with no invoice attached.
